The Love!

Nowadays I am yearning to see my parents who are living in Jaffna peninsula in Srilanka. My children did not see them since they were born due to continued warfare in Srilanka for the past thirty years.I lost my house and property in the peninsula. I suffered the most during my childhood & my adult hood!! Only god knows whether I will see my parents who are 82 years and 76 years respectively!

Having sex when the children are grown-up.....Is it ok?

In most asian families having sex when the children are grown-up is considered as a taboo subject! The parents either refrain from sex or do it in an environment where their children would not be seen for a couple of hours! The psyche behind this attitude is cultural rather than social! The parents feel that when the children are grown-up "performing the act" will harm their mentality! The truth is that performance of sex when the child is near-by will lead to "inquisitiveness" on the part of the child and sometimes cause it to become as anxious and nervous! It is not a good practice to engage in sexual activity when the children are in the vicinity. The parents must frankly tell their children when they become as teenagers that what marriage means and what is the core issue in a marital relationship! They must tell their children it is natural that the mother and the father sleep together and they(the children) should go to bed in another room.Boys can be in one roo...

Working in London!

Image
Working for Indian house-owners in North-West and Central London as an architect is not an easy task! We had to perform our functions as surveyors than as architects! Since we were from the Asian origin ,the London-based Indian businessmen and their wives always sought the help of local men like us for their house repair and re-design!Besides,engaging us for their house- design was cheaper to them than to employ an English architect. I was living in Perivale with a friend of mine for a short period of time and during which I went to several Indian house-holds to measure their houses and to prepare measured drawings.Survival in London is very very difficult for foreigners like us.You would have to undertake any type of job for your survival. In some instances you will be less-paid than the accepted 4pounds per hour!Even to sell green-leaves along the pavement you need a work-permit from the Home Officeand you would be taxed for the selling! That is how the tax system works in UK. So my j...

Unforgettable qualities in my mum!

Image
My mum, always got-up early in the morning to cook for our family of seven! She was a very dedicated mother and had a traumatic life. She lit the fire in the kitchen around four-thirty in the morning and doused it around nine in the night! I could remember that she strolled like a honey-bee and did our daily chores.Around seven in the morning, she would be ready with our meals for breakfast and lunch. She used to walk to the near-by school where she taught mathematics and Tamil for primary school children! Apart from that ,she did harvest paddy for our own consumption and for selling.Every week my mother boiled paddy and made it as rice in big quantities.I used to go to the rice mill which was far-away with sacks full of paddy in a bicycle. The job was very tiresome but enjoyable! Along the way to the rice mill I usually pass tobacco fields, vegetable plots etc.The Mill owner was a friend of my father so there was no problem with the milling. I love my mother very much! She was very ...

The Difference between Hinduism & Buddhism

The main religions in the South and South-East Asian regions are Buddhism and Hinduism.Lord Buddha who invented Buddhist philosophy partly recognizes the gods and goddesses of the Hindu Pantheon.Buddha believes "Hell theory" as like Hindus where the condemned souls are tortured and incarcerated by the attendants of YAMA the "King of the nether world".At the same time Buddha does not believe in individual "Atman" or a "Soul" in living creatures. Buddha says that there is no "Soul' in human-beings or other living creatures but point-out that there is only a "living force"(Consciousness). This living force determines the living-path of an individual and is guided by the "Karma" or the past deeds of a living creature in this or previous carnations! For instance if you had a good "Karma" in the past, you will be born in a wealthy family and enjoy all things in life. The living force is impermanent according to Lord...

The saint!

The man becomes as a saint after he had had enough in sex and sexual affairs. It leads him to the wanted liberation! He attains bliss in his own realm. After this he loses all interest in sex!! He becomes introverted and aloof and try to reach the holiness! This change often happens suddenly. The urge for sex should decrease naturally and not forcefully to attain sainthood! If it is suppressed it will burst and raise it's ugly head one day!!
